The Strandboden area is located right by Lake Biel. Here is where locals take time out from their busy lives to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and splendid views.
The area between what is now the train station and the lake shore was excavated from 1973, creating the Strandboden in place of the former lakeside promenade.
This wonderful lakeside promenade with several large meadows invites visitors to come and relax and play. The stunning views of the lake, Vogelinsel (Bird Island) and St. Peter’s Island make time seem to stand still.
For visitors feeling a little peckish or in need of refreshment, the Dock4 restaurant right on Strandboden itself leaves nothing to be desired. This is the perfect spot to meet with family and friends.
