International Museum Day, which falls on May 18th, offers the Mendrisiotto art museums the opportunity to present a comprehensive program spanning the entire month of May.
For four consecutive weekends, the museums of the MAM network will open their doors to the public, offering free admission and guided tours of current exhibitions.
Visitors will be able to discover the visions of Max Bill and Pino Musi, retrace the evolution of architectural forms in Ticino, be captivated by Bertille Bak's "resistance tales," explore Felice Varini's pictorial interventions in space, or immerse themselves in the world of Ticino's public art collections. At some locations, it will also be possible to participate in a creative workshop designed for younger visitors.
The program opens on Friday, May 1st at the max museo in Chiasso. It will be followed by the Teatro dell'architettura Mendrisio on Sunday, May 10th, the Museo Vincenzo Vela in Ligornetto, and the Pinacoteca cantonale Giovanni Züst in Rancate on Sunday, May 17th, concluding at the Mendrisio Art Museum on Sunday, May 24th.
