簡介

An unforgettable evening featuring Tchaikovsky's greatest ballets and beloved opera arias, performed live by the United Soloists Orchestra.

The evening when your favorite melodies come to life

You already know this music. You’ve heard it in movies, at weddings, and on the radio your whole life. The triumphant “Nessun Dorma.” The tender “O Mio Babbino Caro.” The brilliance of *The Nutcracker*. The unstoppable cannons of the *1812 Overture*. *Time to Say Goodbye*.

But there’s a world of difference between listening to a recording—and experiencing 60 musicians filling the hall around you, the strings rising, the brass blossoming, the final chord lingering in the air before the applause begins.

In a single evening, The Grand Romance Gala brings together the most romantic music Tchaikovsky ever wrote with the opera arias the whole world has fallen in love with—performed live by one of Europe’s most acclaimed young orchestras.

The program:

Dance of the Jugglers (The Snow Maiden)

Flower Waltz (The Nutcracker)

Theme from Piano Concerto No. 1

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker)

Garland Waltz (Sleeping Beauty)

Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”—Adagio

1812 Overture—the legendary finale

Swan Lake: Danse Napolitaine · Danse Espagnole · Danse Russe · Scène finale

O Mio Babbino Caro

Quando Me’n Vò (La Bohème)

Habanera (Carmen)

My Love Song Must Be a Waltz

My Lips, They Kiss So Hot

Granada

La donna è mobile (Rigoletto)

Nessun dorma! (Turandot)

Torna a Surriento · 'O Sole Mio

Brindisi—The Drinking Song (La Traviata)

Time To Say Goodbye

The arias you know from the great voices of Pavarotti, Bocelli, Te Kanawa, and Netrebko—performed live in magnificent symphonic arrangements by the vocal soloists of the United Soloists Orchestra.

About the Orchestra

Described by the press as “the ensemble revolutionizing music in Europe” (Ticino Welcome), the United Soloists Orchestra is a Swiss symphonic ensemble founded in 2017. It brings together young virtuoso soloists from Europe’s most renowned institutions—including the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Teatro alla Scala, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

The orchestra’s own vocal soloists take center stage in the second half of the evening, bringing the world’s most famous arias to life together with their colleagues.

Their performances have been described as an “explosion of life” (laRegione)—they combine the highest technical skill with a warm, generous, and deeply expressive sound. As the media wrote: “It’s not just music: it’s magic!” (Ticino Welcome)

Under the musical direction of Arseniy Shkaptsov, the orchestra is guided by a simple conviction: that no one should ever feel that this music is “not for them.” Tonight, it’s for you.

The Soloists

Olga Czerwinski · Soprano

The Austrian soprano of Russian descent is just as at home at the Vienna Musikverein as she is on the major stages of Asia. Following her debut as Zerlina in Mozart’s *Don Giovanni*, she has appeared as a guest artist at the Teatro Ristori in Verona, the Bühne Baden, the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Guangzhou Opera House, and the Shanghai Grand Theatre. She regularly performs as a soloist at the traditional Viennese balls at the Hofburg—a world from which the operetta melodies of this evening also originate. With over 1,500 concerts to her credit and First Prize at the Alpe-Adria Competition in Udine, she is among the most expressive voices of her generation. Her debut album, featuring Sergei Rachmaninoff’s romance cycles, will be released next year.

Francesco Tuppo · Tenor

The Italian tenor is one of the most sought-after Rossini interpreters of his generation. As Don Ramiro in *La Cenerentola*, he has appeared as a guest artist at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Regio in Parma, and the Teatro Argentina in Rome; as Count Almaviva, he has performed at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and the Novosibirsk Opera House under the baton of Dmitri Jurowski. At the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, he performed a concert in honor of the great tenor. He is equally at home in operetta: *The Merry Widow*, *The Csárdás Princess*, and *The Beautiful Helena*—performed at venues such as the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo and the Teatro Coccia in Novara.
