100 Jahre lateinamerikanische Künstlerinnen
Mit Vanguardistas. 100 Jahre lateinamerikanische Künstlerinnen präsentiert das Kunstmuseum Basel | Gegenwart erstmals in der Schweiz eine gross angelegte Überblicksausstellung von Künstlerinnen aus Lateinamerika. In internationaler Zusammenarbeit mit Partnerinstitutionen in Belgien, Deutschland und Finnland versammelt die Ausstellung Werke von mehr als 70 Künstlerinnen aus über einem Jahrhundert, darunter bedeutende Arbeiten international bekannter Künstlerinnen wie der Kolumbianerinnen Olga de Amaral (* 1932) und Doris Salcedo (* 1958), der britisch-mexikanischen Künstlerin Leonora Carrington (1917–2011), der Paraguayerin Claudia Casarino (* 1974), der Brasilianerin Lygia Clark (1920–1988), der kubanisch-US-amerikanischen Künstlerinnen Carmen Herrera (1915–2022) und Ana Mendieta (1948–1985), der Mexikanerinnen Frida Kahlo (1907–1954) und Teresa Margolles (* 1963), der Argentinierin Marta Minujín (* 1943) und der Chilenin Cecilia Vicuña (* 1948).
