Accessible to all types of hiker, this easy route takes you from the village of Saillon to the Farinet footbridge over the Salentze gorges.
A 92-metre-long suspension footbridge, ultra-light and well integrated into the landscape, allows visitors to cross the Salentze gorges in complete tranquillity. From this vantage point, walkers can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the plain, vineyards, hillsides and peaks that surround the valley. Hans Erni's famous Dove of Peace, clinging to the cliff at the heart of the via ferrata, watches over the intrepid climbers as they contemplate the void beneath their feet. A vertiginous 136 metres above the abyss where Farinet died, it is the end point of a hike that starts in the heart of the village of Saillon and passes through a number of key places in the story of the counterfeiter. It can be reached by crossing the Saillon vineyards or from the Les Places bus stop on the road to Ovronnaz.
