Restoring historic signs and unique works of art, you'll visit Bertille Laguet's Forge, trained at Ecal (a prestigious French-speaking design school) and with master wrought-iron craftsman Philippe Naegele. In Chexbres, on the balcony of Lake Geneva nestled in the heart of the Lavaux region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you can visit the workshop, watch forging demonstrations, and maybe even try your hand at forging a nail.
The visit to Bertille Laguet's forge, in Chexbres in the heart of the Lavaux region, is accessible by train and lasts about 1 hour. You'll learn about the history of the site, take a guided tour of the workshop and watch a forge demonstration. You'll be shown the various works in progress, and have the chance to try your hand at striking the anvil.
