Intro

The northernmost peak of the Monte Rosa massif is also the second-highest peak in Switzerland. And visitors often like to return and make the ascent multiple times!

Nordend (4,609m a.s.l.) لمحة سريعة عن

The Nordend, a secondary peak of the Dufourspitze, is on the border between Switzerland and Italy. At 4,609 metres above sea level, the Nordend is the second-highest peak in Switzerland. It takes its name from its geographical location: the Nordend is the northernmost peak of the Monte Rosa massif. In the heart of the Valais Alps, the ascent usually leads climbers up past the Monte Rosa Hut on the glacier of the same name. Depending on visitors’ fitness level, the Nordend can also be combined with an ascent of the Dufourspitze. The first ascent of the Nordend was in 1861.
