The uncrowned queen of the Mischabel group, that sits above the Valais village of Täsch. The climb up to the summit is an experience in itself!
The Täschhorn, part of the Mischabel group, towers high above the Valais village of Täsch. Although 55 metres smaller than the Dom, the Täschhorn is considered to be the uncrowned queen of the mountain chain. Its imposing triangular shape includes three ridges and three sloped sides. Several routes lead up to the summit, 4,491 metres above sea level. No matter how the summit is reached, climbing the Täschhorn is one of the greatest and most dangerous challenges the Alps has to offer. Which makes the fact that it was first climbed in 1862 by the then-19-year-old Franz Lochmatter all the more astonishing.
