Intro

Galleria Amici dell’Arte in Brissago presents works by Irmgard Blaser, who works with layered techniques, pigments, acrylic colours and mixed materials.

About the exhibition

Irmgard Blaser presents a selection of works shaped by many years of artistic practice. The Basel-based artist has painted and drawn throughout her professional life and further developed her training with various teachers, including at the contemporary art academy «Fabrik am See» in Gaienhofen and in Ticino.

Artist and work

A central element of her current practice is layered technique. She draws inspiration from the structures that emerge during the drying process and continues to develop them with pigments. She also creates acrylic works on canvas, at times incorporating collage materials, sand, rust and other elements.

Artistic approach

Blaser describes her inspiration as closely linked to music, nature, books, writings and texts. Her paintings aim to convey sensuality, calm and openness while creating a meditative atmosphere.
