Musica e Natura 2026 - Brasilar
Overview
Intro
Brazil and Argentina in music
Astor Piazzolla had a lasting influence on the development of the Argentine tango and steered it into a dimension that was no longer confined solely to dance – a dimension that was open to influences from jazz and European classical music. A forerunner of this significant era in 20th-century Argentine music was Aníbal Troilo; he is represented here with a work that already points in the direction Piazzolla would later take.
Next comes the extraordinary Brazilian music scene of the 20th century, whose rhythms and timbres are reflected in the works of Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso and Eumir Deodato.
