"Cinnamon Rolls" Concert: Nordic "cinnamon rolls" with "ensemble le phénix" and melodious, rhythmic Scandinavian sounds. CHF 30, children free, Anm.info@lephenix.ch or 076 5063618
Even though cinnamon rolls are more of a year-round classic in Scandinavia than a specific Christmas tradition, they play a special role during the cold season and are an integral part of the cozy atmosphere known as “hygge”: candlelight, Christmas decorations, good food, and spending time together....and the perfect music to go with it! This year’s Christmas program by the Bünden ensemble “le phénix” is inspired by the “Danish String Quartet,” whose distinctive, self-arranged versions of traditional Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, British, and Irish folk songs convey a blend of melancholy and light. These are tangible soundscapes that evoke vast landscapes or misty coastlines, presented in a spirit that is both adventurous and playful as well as festive and heartfelt. You can not only smell the scent of Christmas—you can hear it, too.
