Intro
South of the River Reuss and west of Lucerne train station lies the Hirschmatt-Neustadt district. You’ll discover this urban district on a city walk.
Hirschmatt is a bustling and colourful district thanks to its mixture of small shops and boutiques, galleries, restaurants, cinemas, bars, clubs, hotels and apartments. On the walk through the most urban district of the city of Lucerne, you’ll find out about its history and architecture while also discovering it as it is today. The walk starts at Lucerne Theatre. You’ll then stroll along Hirschmattstrasse, across Pilatusstrasse to the Vögeligärtli, a popular park and playground. The discovery tour continues along Sempacherstrasse and Habsburgerstrasse, finishing at Helvetiagärtli.
