Swisstainable classified establishments
Intro
From tourism, for tourism – that's Swisstainable. The Swiss Sustainability Programme supports tourism businesses in the further development of their commitment to sustainability within the framework of the programme. At the same time, it offers guests orientation in the choice of establishments and creates transparency about the various Swisstainable levels. In this way, Swisstainable makes it easier to classify the diverse range of sustainability labels and programmes.
Businesses and organisations from the entire tourism value chain can participate in the Swisstainable programme, provided they meet the defined requirements. In order to take into account different requirements as well as the respective requirements and evidence, Swisstainable comprises three levels with different requirements for instruments and certificates.
- Level I – committed Companies at Level I – committed are committed to the continuous development of their commitment to sustainability within the framework of Swisstainable's programme requirements. They confirm their commitment in the form of a commitment, carry out a sustainability check and define concrete steps in an action plan.
- Level II – engaged Companies at Level II – engaged meet the programme requirements of Swisstainable (see Level I – committed) and continuously develop their commitment to sustainability. In addition, they have a certificate recognised for this level that covers at least the environmental, social or economic dimension.
- Level III – leading Companies at Level III – leading have a comprehensive, recognised proof of sustainability that takes into account ecological, social and economic aspects and is regularly externally audited in accordance with the requirements of the respective certification system.
