This is Switzerland's largest moor landscape. At 130 square kilometers, the area is a bit larger than Lake Lucerne.

In the past 150 years, no other habitat has been as damaged or mistreated as the moors. Today, moors are considered one of nature's most valuable types of landscape. For this reason, moorlands are now well-protected. With their clumps of bushes and trees, the multi-facetted moorlands offer shelter to numerous types of grouse.

On the Moor Bear Path, young and old can discover unspoiled nature. This educational trail offers information about the plant and animal world.
