At 3336 m Rosablanche is the highest point of the municipality of Nendaz in the mountains of the Valais and this is where the 2.25 km long Grand Désert glacier is located. It can be reached on hiking trails starting at Lac de Cleuson or from the Grande Dixence dam. If you take the path from Lac de Cleuson, a stop at Lac du Grand Désert is not to be missed. Its water comes directly from the glacier.
