Founded in London in 1994 by the violinist Corina Belcea, the Belcea Quartet has become one of the most sought-after ensembles on the international scene. Their numerous recordings, including a complete set of Beethoven’s quartets that has become a genuine point of reference, bear witness to their rare artistic quest. “What seems to animate this music above all is man's aspiration toward freedom”, they write.
