Eleven calligraphers celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Hittnau calligraphy workshop together with workshop manager Hansulrich Beer at the Kemptnertobel Gallery.
In the first few months of this year, they developed an exhibition concept that goes beyond the familiar, traditional calligraphy: artistically painted areas of color carry calligraphed texts that are in dialogue with objects placed opposite them. Western calligraphy is based on a variety of writing styles that have developed over centuries in connection with social changes. Every year, the Hittnau calligraphy workshop offers ongoing courses based on Western writing styles. Art cards, calligraphically designed objects, blind prints and etchings are created in the process.
