Overview
Intro
When Helen's beloved father dies, she loses herself in her grief and in dark thoughts.
Time and again, she finds herself lost in memories of the time she spent with her father exploring nature and watching birds. She decides to take in a hawk, knowing full well that these birds of prey—admired for their strength and elegance—are extremely difficult to tame. From then on, Helen focuses entirely on her goal of winning the hawk’s trust and teaching it to hunt and fly freely—until she realizes how much she has been neglecting her own feelings and her own life...
