Four penguins at the South Pole who only eat bananas - can that work? When their last banana tree dies, they set off on an adventurous journey halfway around the world. Their destination: Uncle Jaap's banana stall at the Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam. But what happens when the four hungry penguins suddenly find themselves standing in front of him?
The Ardemus Quartet tells the story of this unusual expedition with humor, imagination and lots of music. In collaboration with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and director Margrith Vrenegoor, a stage play has been created that will delight children and adults alike. Music by Michael Nyman, Claude Debussy, Toek Numan and others becomes a lively soundtrack for a story full of humor, suspense and heart.
A family concert for everyone from 6 to 99 years old - weird birds, great adventures and a quartet that plays and acts with virtuosity and enthusiasm.
