Description
Ambience:
Right beside the ski slope, the restaurant has seen continuous growth for more than 100 years and combines the true alpine charm of the Valais region with contemporary design for wellbeing. The clientele couldn’t be more international and many different languages can be heard here. The food is exactly as it should be: simple but sophisticated, imaginative but still down-to-earth.
Location:
In the hamlet of Findeln at an altitude of 2,100 metres in the Sunegga ski area, with beautiful views of the Matterhorn.
Cuisine:
Perfectly prepared market-fresh Swiss food with a touch of international cuisine: beef carpaccio with roasted foie gras cubes and herb salad, dried meat and cheese platters, Swiss hay soup with barley and dried meat, Bloody Mary soup with lamb chorizo and basil froth, mountain goat cheese ravioli in thyme-browned nut butter and caramelised Valais pear, Älpler Rösti with bacon and fried egg, meat loaf with parmesan polenta, lamb entrecote with figs braised in port and mashed potatoes, farmer’s sausage on creamed leeks with Rösti and grappa mustard. Beautiful desserts from simple fruit cakes to fruits of the forest under a saffron-hazelnut crust with Fior di Latte ice-cream. Another speciality: breakfast is from 9.15am to 11.30am.
