Lenker Rundweg

The route starts at Lenk railway station in Simmental with a short sightseeing tour through the popular village – past inviting restaurants, café bars and various shops. Not far from the village is the Lenkerseeli lake (also known as Rohresee), located within the nature conservation area of the same name, where you can watch ducks and other native birds. The mountain scenery with a view of the 3,244-metre Wildstrubel is impressive too.

Needless to say, a visit to the AlpKultur playground beside the lake is also a must. In this area, you could say the Alps have been brought down into the valley: with an Alpine hut, play apparatus made of natural materials, fire pits and the Strubeli Bähnli miniature train, this large site of around 7,000 square metres has a great deal to offer. If you need something to eat or drink, stop by at the Lenkerseeli kiosk.

The route leads past some romantic spots to rest, crossing over the Iffigbach stream and onward through a serenely situated forest. When you cross the wooden bridge over the river Simme (around 55 kilometres long) that follows, you will already be on the home stretch. As you keep going straight along the river, murmuring by your side, Lenk village centre will soon come into sight. If needed, you can stop for another bite to eat at KUSPO (course and sports centre) or in the village before the route ends at the train station.
