Intro
On the sunny side of Wildhaus – with spectacular view to the Churfirsten – this circular tour leads form Wildhaus over the high plateau Gamplüt to Alp Fros and back again.
Description
Toggenburg has more to offer than just the seven Churfirsten. Nevertheless, these are of course very pretty. Most impressive are the rocky spikes from a respective distance – from the opposite valley side facing the sun. This is exactly where this winter hiking path leads.
The way goes from the Chuchitobel parking several meters along the street and is then evenly following the hill flank. Over meadows, past sparse forests the high plateau Gamplüt at the foot of Schafberg in Wildhaus is reached. The way increases then to the view point Alp Fros, where the view opens to the Rhine Valley.
Before the way is going back into the valley, we pass the mountain restaurant Gamplüt. Those who want can shorten the hiking tour: the first solar-driven gondola lift of the world is leading down into the valley. Alternatively also sledges can be rented.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
