The Weisstannental is located in the east of Switzerland and belongs to the municipality of Mels in the canton of St. Biliary. The valley is sparsely populated and a real insider tip for nature fans and those seeking peace and quiet.

Discover Weisstannental

One village, one valley, many possibilities: Start your visit in the small village of Weisstannen with its typical wooden houses. From here, hiking trails lead you to rushing waterfalls, blooming alpine meadows and over the historic Alp Siez into the Calfeisen Valley. Experience real hut culture on a hike to the Heidelberger Hütte. In spring and summer, cows and goats dominate the picture – an insight into traditional alpine life.

Nature paradise

In the Weisstannental you will find peace and space. The valley offers you original mountain landscapes, old paths and clear mountain streams. Particularly popular is the path to the Batöni waterfall arena, where five waterfalls transform the valley basin into a natural spectacle. The Lavtina plateau is one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in the valley.

Alp Siez and Heidelberger hut

A special experience is the hike through Alp Siez to the Heidelberger hut. The route leads through typical alpine landscapes, past flocks of sheep and old stables. The hut offers simple overnight stays and meals – ideal for an easy, uncomplicated mountain experience.

Around Weisstannental

The valley is an ideal starting point for tours into the Calfeisen Valley with the Gigerwald reservoir and the historic Walser settlement of St. Martin. The Pizol area with the famous Five Lakes Hike is also easily accessible from here. If you explore the valley by bike, you will be rewarded with spectacular views. In winter, the area attracts with snowshoe trails and ski tours.
