Intro
This winter walk between La Givrine and Le Vermeilley involves a gentle climb affording beautiful views of the forest in the heart of the Parc Jura Vaudois and a panoramic vista of Mont Blanc.
Description
Starting from La Givrine, after a gentle climb through pastures and forest, you reach La Genolière Farm at 1,348m, the halfway point. In fine weather, you can enjoy beautiful views of Mont Blanc from here and you can also visit the “Glacière de la Genolière”, a natural site for producing and storing ice in summer and winter.
The route then continues to Le Vermeilley Farm, a tranquil place where you can refuel and enjoy the cosy fire inside or the sunny terrace. You’ll appreciate the peace and quiet of this tranquil place in the middle of nowhere and want to linger a while and enjoy a typical local dish before heading back down on the Col de la Givrine.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
