Along the way along the «Drei Weieren» (Three Ponds) you are treated to a fabulous view of St Gallen and Lake Constance.
The easiest way to reach the «Drei Weieren» is by the Mühleggbahn. The base station of this small cableway is located right behind the Abbey District of St Gallen. In less than five minutes it takes you to the St Georgen District above the Old Town. Right next to the summit station of the cableway steps lead to the panorama trail which runs past the three ponds. When you reach the third pond you can warm up with a lovely cup of coffee in the Restaurant Dreilinden.
Those who wish to walk a little further can add a tour round the Notkersegg Nunnery and then take a break at the Restaurant Scheitlinsbüchel. The trail around the lake then takes you back to the base station of the Mühleggbahn.
The walk around the «Drei Weieren» takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The additional tour round the Notkersegg Nunnery takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
