Intro

With the "Grand Tour of Switzerland" app, it is now possible for the first time to collect digital photo spots and virtual objects. This function is intended to stimulate the users' urge to play and collect, but also to direct visitor flows.

Collect fotospots

There are around 90 highlights to discover along the "Grand Tour of Switzerland". At some of these locations, so-called photo spots have been placed, which can be photographed, collected digitally in form of NFT and stored in a personal wallet. To further motivate participants, bronze, silver and gold levels will be unlocked depending on the number of photo spots collected. Those participants who have collected all the photo spots will take part in an annual draw for a main prize.

Virtual objects

For future campaigns, functionalities were implemented that allow Switzerland Tourism to direct guests in a measured way. These make it possible to place rare or temporary virtual objects away from over-frequented tourist hotspots and thus draw guests' attention to lesser-known tourist destinations.

As can be seen in the clip below, during the grape harvest in the Lavaux region, a special photo spot is only published during this time and the Special NFT from the "White Turf" can only be collected during the corresponding event.

Fotospot selfie

With the "photo spot selfie" function, our users share their experiences with friends in the social media and motivate them to experience the "Grand Tour of Switzerland" for themselves. The pictures can be played out in all relevant channels at the touch of a button and can be taken with front- and back-camera.

Your favourite foto spot location

With the photo spot selfie function, guests can choose anywhere in Switzerland where they would like a photo spot to be placed. They can send Switzerland Tourism their suggestions and after an internal review, a new photo spot may soon be placed there.
