Fear Training – Overcoming fears while hiking

Do you know that feeling? Just before the wire rope section, your knees go weak, your steps get shorter, and the way back suddenly seems like the only sensible idea. Sure-footedness isn’t a talent you either have or don’t have. You can train it just like any other mountain technique. That’s exactly what we do on these two guided hiking days for 1 to 4 people. Out in the open on real mountain trails, with plenty of time and no pressure to perform. Day 1: Basics We start in easy terrain with exercises for balance and body tension. You’ll learn how to place your foot securely, where to look, how trekking poles give you support, and how to assess the terrain properly. Then we move step by step onto slightly more exposed paths. Breaks are explicitly allowed. Turning back is too, by the way. Day 2: Applying On a new route, you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice and notice how much more natural your steps feel. At the end, we’ll discuss what to keep in mind for your next hikes. The goal isn’t for you to be dancing along ridge edges at the end. It’s for you to plan the hikes you want to do with a good feeling again. Ideal for anyone who’s been struggling through mountain hikes instead of enjoying them.
