Flumserberg lies high above the southern shore of the Walensee facing the magnificent and geologically fascinating Churfirsten chain. This family-friendly resort is surrounded by varied walking country and offers many attractions for children. In winter, Flumserberg is the biggest winter sports’ region in eastern Switzerland.
The Flumserberg leisure destination lies high above Lake Walen and offers countless family-friendly activities in both summer and winter. Flumserberg can be reached in less than 90 minutes by public transport from Zurich and St.Gallen.
Winter:
The snow-sure Flumserberg winter sports area is the largest winter sports destination between Zurich and Chur and offers slopes of varying degrees of difficulty. The SnowPark, the FamilyRun, the SkiCross and the HäxäWäldli adventure slope provide plenty of variety. Cross-country skiers will find 20 km of trails on the Prodalp and on Alp Tannenboden. The 3km-long toboggan run from Prodalp to Tannenheim provides further action. Those who prefer a more leisurely approach can enjoy the idyll and tranquillity on the three signposted snowshoe routes on the Flumserberg. Children and beginners can familiarize themselves with snow sports in the two free practice areas. Cozy mountain restaurants provide culinary variety.
Those who would like to discover something new can get an introduction to the world of sled dogs on Flumserberg. From harnessing and unharnessing the huskies, to expert instruction, to gliding silently through the snowy winter landscape followed by mulled wine, an unforgettable experience for dog lovers.
Summer:
Families are very welcome at this leisure destination. The CLiiMBER climbing tower, the 2 km long FLOOMZER toboggan run, the high-altitude hiking trails, the various themed trails such as the Rohan Rothirsch Adventure Trail, the GeoGallery and the Alpine Flora Trail are all very popular. Adventure Golf course and interesting adventure playgrounds etc. round off the child-friendly offer.
A dense network of 150 kilometers of hiking trails, 13 km of easy and moderately difficult bike trails and three SwitzerlandMobility mountain bike routes criss-cross the excursion destination. Fishing in the mountain stream/lake or paragliding are other possible activities. One highlight is the challenging “7 summit tour”, a ridge hike with great views but without any danger. Hiking enthusiasts are accompanied on their six-hour tour by magnificent views over 150 peaks in the St. Gallen, Grisons, Glarus and Central Swiss Alps.
Guests can reach Lake Walen with its wide range of water sports in 20 minutes by car or with the modern 8-seater SeeJet gondola lift. From diving, stand-up paddling and canoeing to sailing and surfing, there is so much on offer.
