Lenzspitze
Intro
The Lenzspitze, also referred to as “Südlenz”, is characterised by an extremely steep ice wall. It is part of the Mischabel group in the Valais Alps.
The Lenzspitze, along with the Dom and the Täschhorn, harmonises with the Mischabel group in Valais. The particularly spectacular thing about this four-thousander is its north flank – a 50-55-degree ice face. The normal route, both when it was first climbed in 1882 and still today, has been via the northeast face. Another – easier – ascent is via the south ridge. And by the way, if you’re anxious to fit in, you should call this mountain “Südlenz”, just like the locals do.
