Stecknadelhorn (4,241m a.s.l.)
Hint
Intro
At first glance, the Stecknadelhorn doesn’t look particularly spectacular. But anyone climbing this mountain in the Mischabel group will also traverse the Nadelgrat ridge – an absolute highlight for any mountain climber.
Stecknadelhorn (4,241m a.s.l.) at a glance
This small elevation in the Nadelgrat ridge in the Valais Alps is somewhat hidden away and inconspicuous. And yet the Stecknadelhorn should not be underestimated. Its ascent is mostly undertaken by traversing the entire Nadelgrat ridge, making it part of one of the most beautiful ridge hikes in the Alps. The summit, at 4,241 metres above sea level, was first climbed by Oscar Eckenstein and Matthias Zurbriggen on 8 August 1887.
