Iffigfall Trail
Overview
Intro
Lenkersee, Iffigbach and, as climax, the Iffigfall – water is the trump card on this snowshoe hike. From Lenk, the trail goes in the direction of the frozen natural phenomenon under the eyes of the mighty Wildstrubel.
Description
This snowshoe route to the Iffigfall initially follows the groomed winter hiking trail to Lenkersee. The nearby fairytale-like lake is a popular resting point – and a valuable natural reserve: It serves as a spawning and breeding ground for amphibians and various bird species. The flat, vast valley floor is suitable as an inlet area. The majestic Wildstrubel massif forms the perfect backdrop.
After crossing Iffigbach in the Ey, there is a steep ascent into the Teufebode region. The path then leads into the valley along Iffigbach into the Pöschenried region. Forest stretches and open terrains alternate.
The last part of the route leads upwards to the Iffigfall, which is made up of multiple cascades. The frozen, shady valley basin ends here abruptly. Over a 100 metre high rock face, the water masses plummet into a basin. An imposing view. If you want to linger here longer, it is advisable to carry warm clothes with you. In winter, the sun is a rare guest here. You then have to take the same route back to Lenk.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
