All hikes in Lake Geneva – Lac Léman

From St. Saphorin in a diverse route going uphill and downhill through the vines to Lutry. Indeed, it is on the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces where bon vivants get into top gear.

French poet Gilles described the beauty of the Venoge, the river that this stage follows from Cossonay to Saint-Sulpice, sometimes high up, sometimes beside the water. The pilgrims’ path finally reaches Lac Léman and continues on via the Roman town of Vidy to Lausanne.

On a tour of Geneva, you soon realize that the vibrant metropolis also offers wonderful locations in natural surroundings. Combined with the urban background, the attractive promenade alongside the lake, is the ideal place to take a stroll.

In Lausanne, the ViaJacobi leads from the Notre Dame Cathedral down the Escaliers du Marché. In Vidy it crosses an idyllic park with Roman ruins and then follows the popular lakeside promenade along Lac Léman to Morges.

An outing to the magnificent Genevan countryside through the vineyards on the right bank. From Meyrin, you pass through the villages of Bourdigny-Dessous, Choully, Peissy, Russin, Dardagny and Malval to come back to Meyrin.

The former vineyard villages between Coppet and Nyon are picture perfect and worth a visit to soak up their unique atmosphere. This hike follows small lanes past churches, castles, vineyards and villages.

Wonderful gardens, secluded swimming spots and splendid views over Lake Geneva accompany you on this shoreline hike from Lausanne-Ouchy to Morges. The magnificent promenades in Ouchy and Morges form the start and finish of this refreshing tour.

First along the lake shore then over meadows and fields, through airy forests, past vineyards and villages, castles and villas to the medieval town of Aubonne. Wakker Prize winner St-Prex on Lac Lèman is well worth a stop.

A pleasant hike through the steep Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage since 2007. Along the way you meet the old traditional wine villages of St-Saphorin, Rivaz and Epesses, and the lovely little towns of Cully and Lutry on Lac Léman.

From the quay in Ouchy, the ViaFrancigena runs along the Lac Léman shores to Vilette. It then winds through the Lavaux terraces, now a UNESCO World Heritage. Fantastic views over Lac Léman.

After Orbe, the ViaFrancigena reaches the medieval town of Romainmôtier with its Cluniac Abbey. You then reach the centre of the world, where one part of the River Nozon flows to the Mediterranean, the other to the North Sea.
