The Largest Historical Shooting Event
The Morgarten Shooting Competition is one of the best-known 300-meter shooting events in Switzerland and, with over 1,200 shooters participating annually, ranks among the largest historical shooting competitions in the country.
Every year on November 15, the call goes out: “Beware at Morgarten!” and the shooting and festival grounds in Morgarten, near the Morgarten Monument, open their gates to shooters participating in the 300-meter competition as well as to visitors from near and far. At the same time, the 50-meter pistol competition takes place on Schwyz territory, at the Battle Chapel in Sattel.
Since the first Morgarten Shooting Competition in 1912, this historic and time-honored event has become deeply ingrained in the schedules and hearts of Swiss shooters.
A sporting and challenging shooting competition on open terrain, above the Morgarten Monument, offers not only shooters but also visitors and interested spectators the opportunity to witness a traditional, quintessentially Swiss, and historic shooting event. This includes the legendary “Ordinäri-Zmittag,” which has been served since time immemorial, a prominent keynote speaker at the Morgarten Hut, as well as various sales and food stands offering regional specialties and musical entertainment. Don’t miss this opportunity—come visit us at the upcoming Morgarten Shooting Event on November 15.
