InfosVincent Barras Professor für Medizin und KlangkünstlerDavid Christoffel Musikwissenschaftler, Dichter und Komponist ProgramNoda BCVS is delighted to welcome Vincent Barras and David Christoffel for a unique encounter. Their work brings together sound creation and science – Vincent Barras is a professor of medicine, David Christoffel a musicologist – constantly exploring the intersections between these two worlds and the fertile exchanges they inspire. For this Laboratoire, they have chosen to put the spoken word centre stage. What is it about speech that gives it such a singular power, weaving sound and meaning inseparably together? And what new forms, what unexpected experiences has this interplay produced in music, art and contemporary poetry? Join us on 24 November 2026 at 6 pm in the Grande Salle at Noda BCVS to explore, discuss and experiment with these questions together. AboutScientific and musical interactions Music represents a real crossroads between emotions and reason; is it an art? Or a science? The Laboratories straddle the boundary between two worlds, an open door into the factory of our emotions; and we are keen to hear your views, too. Musicians are joined on stage by scientists, to discuss, experiment and reflect for around 1h15, seeking to put a finger on those feelings which make each and every one of us unquestionably human.
