Introducción
A chamber music festival with Simon Crawford-Phillips and three professors from the String Academy 2026, highlighting two significant composers – Fanny Mendelssohn and Nadia Boulanger.
Pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips invites a professor and two professors from the String Academy 2026 to join him on stage: the Frenchman Adrien La Marca, one of the outstanding violists of his generation; British cellist Josephine Knight, holder of the prestigious Alfredo Piatti Chair at the Royal Academy of Music in London; and Slovenian violinist Tanja Sonc, a student of Igor Ozim in Salzburg and Nora Chastain in Zurich, and since 2017 a member of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. The result: a high-profile chamber music celebration that highlights two great female composers from past centuries – Fanny Mendelssohn, in musical "dialogue" with her beloved brother, and Nadia Boulanger, who shaped early editions of the Menuhin Festival Gstaad with her presence.
