Unseen lives

Works by Michel Bernard and paintings by Bern Fery.
This exhibition illuminates the worlds created by Michel Bernard and Bern Fery, two artists with very different and contrasting artistic visions. Michel is the only living artist working in LAP, invented in the 1920s and used by Dufy, Foujita and other well-known artists of the time. This magical substance is formed by the crystallization of natural pigments onto a stone-like backing, giving it a luminous quality – like marble. Michel paints mainly on water, building up layers of pigments for a result that is aethereal and has great depth of field. In addition to LAP, he also uses canvas and wood for his works.
The paintings of Bern Fery reflect a naïve and offbeat view of reality, favoring bold, vivid colors with a particular fondness for greens. His use of light and reflections gives his works a mysterious atmosphere. Human beings are at the heart of the situations appearing in his paintings. There will be live music sessions during the Expo.
