About the couple
Seeing each other for the first time as bride and groom in the old city part of Zurich was surreal. Both had discussed the idea of getting married in Switzerland – simply starting as a thought rather than a possibility – but as soon as they hugged, they knew that everything would be all right.
When both think back to how they first met in a Tibetan colony in India, they feel so lucky. Out of millions of people, the fact that they found each other led both to believe that fate does indeed exist. They now have the life they dreamed of together, and neither can still quite believe it.
About the day
The day itself was truly a dream. Both could genuinely lean into each other and savor every moment together. They loved having all of their favorite people in one place in Zurich and being able to have most of them there made it a special experience. They shared laughs and danced with everyone, which was really what they were most excited about.
Why choosing Switzerland
Zürich just seemed the right place for them to get married, since the city has it all when it comes to different cultures and traditions. The city does provide the right places and possibilities for a perfect Tibetan wedding. The small Tibetan restaurant called «Himalaya» and a Tibetan live band which created an outstanding atmosphere, when combined with the «Swissness-factor» right by the lake of Zurich, made it outstanding.
