At the initiative of the Office of Urban Development, the Kehrseite Winterthur association launched 2022 a special guided tour titled “Racism in Winterthur – Past and Present” for the first time as part of the “Days of Action for Respect and Diversity.” This tour is now offered regularly as a public or private guided tour. At four stops along the route, we examine various forms of racism through the lens of historical events in our city. By involving external specialists and individuals affected by racism, we build a bridge to the present. The aim is to demonstrate how racism persists today, what this means for those affected, and what forms of activism are being practiced. With this newly developed city tour, we aim to raise public awareness of the issue and contribute to raising awareness and combating racism.
