Schadau Castle enjoys a idyllic location directly on the shores of Lake Thun. Formerly a private summer residence, it is now a charming gem of a hotel. Elegant rooms with parquet floors, lounge serving alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee. Free use of the wellness facility in the neighbouring Seepark Hotel. Banqueting and seminar rooms. Located at Lake Thun, the Schadau Castle is a heritage building embedded in the Schadau Park, with imposing lake and mountain views. The castle has originally been built in 1854 as a private summer residence. After an extensive renovation, the Schadau Castle reopens with nine rooms and suites in upper middle-class, restaurant, bar, lakeview terrace as well as a generous garden. Schadau hotel guests can use the 200-meter distant Hotel Seepark’s spa free of charge. City centre and railway station are one bus stop or a 15 minutes’ walk away.

Schadau Castle, the «Historic Hotel of the Year 2021” offers everything for the perfect wedding. Wedding ceremony on the seaward lawn with panoramic view to Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, aperitif in the famous English Schadau Garden and elegant dinners in the historic “Rougemont Hall”. All banquet rooms with lakeview. Couples will find the best surroundings for banquets up to 80 guests at Lake Thun. The 9 unique hotel rooms, the private shipping pier, and other hotels in walking distance complete the wedding offer. For dinners up to 24 guests, there are further rooms on the first floor with private balcony and once per month, the civil registry office marries up to 6 couples in the castle’s salons. Exclusive bookings for the castle are possible in winter.

More beautiful than ever: this listed castle, dating back to 1847, has been refurbished with tremendous love and attention to detail. The floors, embossed leather wallpaper, paintings and so forth have been restored to their former glory. Romantic rooms with a nostalgic feel offer views of the English-style gardens or Lake Thun. The historical setting is ideal for parties, weddings, stylish breaks and conferences. Exquisite cuisine, delicious afternoon teas, picnic baskets available on request. Botanical trail in the park.

Schloss Schadau is a listed building from 1852 and located in the historic Schadau Park, directly on the shores of Lake Thun. In 2019, the castle was completely renovated and possess now nine hotel rooms, some with a wonderful lake view. Guests will also enjoy the magnificent view over the lake to the alps from the garden terrace and the veranda. During winter, the restaurant servec will the modern French-Mediterranean cuisine in a perfect and warm castle atmosphere. The bar "au milieu" with a large sherry assortment completes the Schadau experience. The rooms for banquets and seminars have all lake view, some also with balcony. The "Rougemont-Saal" is the venue for all banquet for up to 70 guests. For weddings, the meadow at the lake is the perfect location for every wedding ceremony. A tower suite can be complemented with a meeting and dining room with a total of almost 100 square meters. The private office away from home.

접근성

Coming from the motorway, follow the signpost “Thun City” and then the car-park routeing system “Scherzligen-Schadau”. To unload your luggage, you can stop for maximum 15 minutes directly in front of the castle. Public parking is 2 to 5 walking minutes away (fee required). Check-in time is possible from 3pm to 10pm, check-out time is at 11am.
