Intro
역사적인 건물은 11세기에 지어졌고, 스위스에 가장 중요한 물위에 뜬 성들 중 하나이다. 할빌(Hallwil) 호수의 북쪽에 위치하고 있으며, 아르바흐 강 위, 두 개의 섬에 자리잡고 있다. 장엄한 실내는 1925년 이후로 대중에게 공개되었다.
물의 성 할빌은 800년간 할빌 이라는 귀족 가문의 보금자리였다. 계보를 이어오고 있는 이 가문 출신들이 연맹전쟁, 유럽의 법정, 과학, 정치학, 상업, 그리고 재정 등에 다양한 분야 및 직종에 관여하였다.
할빌 성 안에서의 전시실에서는 500명의 가족인원 중 대표적인 11인을 조명하고 있어, 빌헬미나 폰 할빌(Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, 1844-1930)이 성을 개보수 하였고, 가족 재단을 이용하여 1925년 대중에게 성을 공개하였다. 1994년에 성은 아르가우(Aargau) 주에 증정되었다.
