Intro

너도밤나무(Beech)는 중앙 유럽에서 가장 중요한 수목으로, 다른 기후와 지리적 조건에 잘 적응하는 능력이 특장점이다. 그러나 인간의 개입이 너도밤나무 고대 원시림에 대단한 부담을 줘 왔고, 이제는 그 흔적이 얼마 남지 않았다.

With trees over 170 years old and a total area of more than 1000 hectares, the two forest reserves in the Lodano, Busai and Soladino valleys (TI) and Bettlachstock (SO) are a valuable genetic reserve, not only for beech trees but also for many associated animal and plant species that depend on these habitats.

The two Swiss forest reserves, now on the UNESCO World Heritage List, are part of a transnational serial site consisting of 94 beech forests located in 18 countries.
