베니스의 여인 I(Woman of Venice I)
아홉 개의 서있는 여인 시리즈 중 첫 번째 작품인 이 청동상은 1956년 베니스 비엔날레(Venice Biennale)를 위해 제작되었다. 여인은 외롭고 수척하며 허약해 보이지만, 똑바로 선 자신에 찬 모습도 보인다. 알베르토 자코메티(Alberto Giacometti)는 시간을 초월하는 동시에 현존하는 인간의 이미지를 창조해냈다. 전쟁으로 상처 받았지만 그럼에도 불구하고 희망을 잃지 않는 인간을 나타내는 작품이다.
