Bénichon Festival of Estavayer-le-Lac

Bénichon MarketOn Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., a craft and local product market takes place along Rue du Château and Rue des Granges. Pony rides (paid activity) and the Bénichon Farm with its animals are also available on Rue des Granges.

Best Bénichon Mustard Competition of the Canton of FribourgOn Saturday morning, in front of the Château de Chenaux (or under the Jaquemart in case of bad weather), the competition for the best mustard in the canton of Fribourg is held. Amateurs and professionals can register until August 25.More information and registration [here].

Horse-drawn Carriage RidesFree horse-drawn carriage rides are organized on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., departing from Place de Chenaux. Each ride lasts about 20 minutes. Advance booking with the Tourist Office is mandatory until Friday at 4 p.m. (before the event). During the weekend, registration is possible at the starting point of the floats on the sheet provided for this purpose, subject to availability.

EntertainmentLive concerts are held under the marquee at Place de Chenaux. The P’tit Train route is adapted during the event.

Card Game TournamentA card game tournament takes place on Friday evening under the festive marquee at Place de Chenaux. Registration costs CHF 50 per team of two. Mandatory registration via email at: benichon.estavayer@gmail.com
