Jura Museum
Overview
Intro
Located in the heart of Delémont's old town, the Jura Museum of Art and History offers a gateway to the Jura and the history of an entire region.
Located in the heart of Delémont, the Jura Museum of Art and History is a place full of character. Sitting on the old town's ramparts, its buildings are part of an architectural ensemble dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries.
Jurassic, Tête de moine, end of the world... A permanent exhibition based on stereotypes and symbols of Switzerland's youngest canton sheds light on the events and environments that have left their mark on the region and its inhabitants.
As a place for debate and reflection, the museum examines social issues through its exhibitions and temporary events.
The museum also houses various collections, including the oldest known decorated crosier in the world and storerooms containing several reserve collections.
The museum also offers guided tours every Saturday and Sunday, a "Not to be missed" itinerary with a magnifying glass. Curiously designed pieces of furniture will inspire young audiences and families. There is also a reception area with a shop and a café.
