Poster "St. Moritz"
In the 1930 Walter Herdeg of Switzerland was the graphic designer of the Tourism Association of St. Moritz and developed the famous symbol of the sun with the slanted, handwritten "St. Moritz". In those years, Herdeg created an entire universe of printed materials for businesses and advertising materials, featuring the new emblem with the sun and the writing. With this, he developed the first coherent visual appearance of a holiday resort. Aside from sun and writing, Herdeg used photomontages with graphical elements, still a new technology at that time, which was also used by Herbert Matter.
