This is Switzerland’s first boutique hostel. The former grain store has been cleverly remodelled to create a budget-friendly hostel with the most modern 2 to 4-bed rooms. Special 4-bed rooms for women only, double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Meeting room for up to 25 people. Breakfast in the "Living Room" lounge, local products.

Life can be both sweet and bitter, just like the cocoa beans that used to be stored here in Silo over a hundred years ago. Now people stay here. Now you are staying here. In 1912, the Basler Lagerhausgesellschaft opened Silo. Today, it houses the Silo Design & Boutique Hostel with a living room for the hostel guests and ateliers used by self-employed professionals and small businesses.10 double rooms with private bathrooms and 10 four-bed dorms offer guests hostel living at a high level. Breakfast consists of fresh local delicacies and is included in the room rate. See you soon at Silo - the doors are open for you!
In front of the hostel you will find the bus stop Signalstrasse, which is served by bus number 46. In the immediate vicinity you will find the tram stop Musical Theater (tram 14) and the bus stop Erlenmatt (bus 30) as well as the Badischer Bahnhof (tram 2&6, bus 30&36 and the S-Bahn). From the EuroAirport you take the bus number 50 to Basel SBB and then the tram number 2 to Badischer Bahnhof. After a short walk we are already waiting for you in our SILO at Signalstrasse 37. If you are coming by car: Signalstrasse is a one-way street. To reach us by car, follow the signs to Baleo Erlenmatt after the Badischer Bahnhof. Unfortunately there are no parking spaces at the SILO at Signalstrasse 37. The nearest public car park is at the Badischer Bahnhof. There you pay CHF 25.00 per 24 hours parking time.
