由四座獨立建築組成的巴塞爾歷史博物館(Basel Historical Museum)，被視為上萊茵地區最重要的文化和歷史博物館。

The “pyramid-shaped mountain” is full of fossilised fish and marine reptiles – a treasure trove 240 million years old. What was once a sea basin later gave way to Monte San Giorgio, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The modernised Fossil Museum in Meride exhibits a selection of fossilised animals and plants.

The Basel Historical Museum with its three sites is widely regarded as the most important museum of cultural history on the Upper Rhine. It collects, conserves, records and researches objects and artefacts of relevance to our cultural heritage for future generations, tells visitors the story of Basel, and is a place for discourse and engagement with both present and future.

穆吉奧(Muggio)山谷一度面臨被遺棄的命運，不過，當地人民對曆史的重視又使得它存續至今，並將作爲一個露天博物館走向未來。

聞名遐邇的米施泰爾聖約翰本篤修院(Benedictie Convent of St. John, Müstair)已被列入聯合國教科文組織的世界文化遺産名錄。除此之外，這裡還有查理曼大帝(Charlemagne)許多珍貴的遺蹟。聖約翰修道院也是僅存爲數不多的法國卡洛林王朝時期風格建築。

這一曆史性建築物建于11世紀，是瑞士最重要的水上城堡。這個城堡位于哈Hallwil湖的北端，座落在Aabach河的兩座島嶼上。這座建築自1925年起對外開放。

普朗然城堡由居住在巴黎的瑞士銀行家Louis Guiguer于19世紀建造，曾經接待過伏爾泰、約瑟夫·波拿巴等名人。建築遠眺日內瓦湖，術語受到保護的曆史建築，景色宜人，瑞士國家博物館就坐落在這裏。
