Half boat, half bathtub: that’s the Hot Tug. Sitting comfortably in 38-degree water, gliding across Lake Brienz while snowflakes melt on your forehead. Winter bathing has never been cooler.
What could be more relaxing in the cold winter months than a warm bath? The special winter bath is one where a tub filled with almost 40-degree water is out in the open air. The clear, fresh winter air flows soothingly into the lungs, while the warm water relaxes the limbs. Happiness is brought to all those with access to a hot tub.
Could there be anything better? Actually, yes! And that’s a hot tub floating on the lake. Hot Tug is the name, and the only one in the country is on Lake Brienz near Interlaken. This bathtub and boat combo is filled with 38-degree water and has space for up to six people. Thanks to the electric motor, guests chug around Lake Brienz in comfort during their soothing bath. A small wooden stove ensures the water is kept warm during the 90-minute trip.
A winter bath could hardly be more spectacular: the slopes with their snow-covered forests rise steeply on both sides of the lake shore, and towards the west the view opens up to the snow-covered peaks of the Bernese Alps – for panoramic wellness with a unique mountain backdrop.
