Fresh mountain air, stars almost close enough to touch and sweeping views as far as the eye can see: This monumental hotel high on the Pilatus is worth a visit if only to view the amazing spot where it lies. Nowhere are the stars brighter and the sunrises more spectacular than on the Pilatus Kulm. So close to Lucerne, yet an entirely different world. The historic mountain hotel Pilatus Kulm**** was built in 1890 and completely renovated in 2010. It has 27 Superior double rooms and 3 Junior Suites, all with breath-taking views of the Alps. There are a further 20 Standard double rooms at the Hotel Bellevue***. The state-of-the art meeting rooms of the Pilatus Business Center are bright and airy and best suit for events on 2132 meters above sea level. Put the icing on your mountain experience with a cosy dinner and be woken gently next morning by the fantastic sunrise.The mountain hotels Pilatus-Kulm**** and Bellevue*** are located on the summit of Lucerne's local mountain at 2132 meters (7000 feets) above sea level. You can travel to the top of the mountain either from Alpnachstad with the world's steepest cog railway in 30 minutes or from Kriens / Lucerne by gondola. Both valley stations are easy to reach via the motorway.

Queen Victoria rode up the Pilatus on horseback in 1868. The Hotel Pilatus-Kulm was built there in 1890, and in 2010 this listed hotel was completely renovated. The Queen Victoria Restaurant was named in honour of the queen. Market-fresh cuisine using local produce is served. Richard Wagner is also one of the Kulm Hotel's past illustrious guests.

Today, the hotel with its stunning 360 degree views is a charming and skilful blend of tradition and modernity.

The steepest cog railway in the world is an experience in itself. Upon reaching the top there is another: seeing the spectacular mountain and lake views. This clears the mind and prepares you for a meeting in one of the historic mountain hotel’s seven seminar rooms at 2132 metres above sea level.
