Les Instruments de musique, planche 4: Le Piano
Graphic series occupy a special place in the work of Félix Vallotton. His definition of space, use of light and expression of feelings were initially developed in woodcuts before they were transferred into his paintings. "Les instruments de musique", a series consisting of six plates portraying six instruments, takes the artist more specifically towards a radicalisation of forms and increasingly pronounced abstraction.
